Payment
An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard (transaction fee of 1.75% applies).
The balance will be secured directly by the supplier prior to departure. Accepted payment types include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit cards, EFTPOS and cash.
In some cases the ‘Balance Payable Before Departure’ payment and bond for your rental will be taken up to 24 hours before the commencement of the rental, this applies to rentals from all Brisbane Airport, Perth Airport and out of hours locations.
CAR RENTAL AGREEMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
This agreement is between the prospective hirer identified on Part A of the contract (“you”) and Total Designs & Development Pty. Ltd. Trading As M2000 Car Rental (“the Company”) to hire the vehicle specified on Part A of the contract, including any replacement vehicle (“the Vehicle”).
1. VEHICLE CONDITION AND RETURN
A. Vehicle Condition
1. You acknowledge receiving the Vehicle from the Company in a good and clean condition (except otherwise specified in the Vehicle Inspection Report) including all accessories, tools, spare tyre, equipment from the Company.
2. You agree to maintain tyre pressure, fluid and fuel at the appropriate levels and to immediately report any defect to us.
B. Vehicle Return
You must return the Vehicle to the Company:
1. In the same condition as it was at the commencement of the Rental Period except for ordinary wear and tear (ORDINARY WEAR AND TEAR DOES NOT INCLUDE WINDCREEN AND OR TYRE DAMAGE)
2. To the location and on the date specified on part A (or sooner if the Company demands). If you return the vehicle to any place other than the Company’s location, or if you return after hours of operation, you shall be responsible for the vehicle’s condition until an authorized representative of the Company takes possession of the vehicle during its hours of operation.
3. With the odometer seal intact. Should the odometer seal be broken, the person responsible shall be reported to an appropriate authority and you shall be liable for extra charges based on 500 Kilometers per day at 50 Cents per Kilometer.
4. The Company reserves the right to take possession of the vehicle without notice at your expense should any of the following occur:
i. The vehicle is illegally parked
ii. The vehicle is used in violation of the law and/or of this agreement
iii. The vehicle is apparently abandoned
2. EXTENSION
1. You shall notify the Company and obtain its authorization for extension of hiring period beyond the due in date and time specified in part A of the contract. Such notification must be done PRIOR TO the due in date and time.
2. Should you fail to obtain the Company’s authorization for extension prior to the due in time, your rental becomes overdue, in this case a late penalty of $10.00 per day shall apply on top of the agreed daily rental rate for each day and part thereof.
3. Should your rental becomes overdue, the Company has the right to initiate a re-possession process without notice, in which case you shall be liable for a minimum re-possession cost of $275.00. As part of re-possession process the Company may also report the vehicle as stolen.
3. UNAUTHORISED AND PROHIBITED USE
A. Persons strictly prohibited from driving the vehicle:
1. Person other than those identified on Part A of the contract and/or other person the Company approved in writing.
2. Person who is not licensed for the class of the vehicle.
3. Person whose blood alcohol exceeding the lawful limit.
4. Person who use false identity and person who provide his or her identity to be used as false identify by other person.
5. Person whose driver license has been suspended, cancelled endorsed in the last three years.
6. Person holding driver license for less than two years.
7. Person holding Learners permit, Provisional or Probationary and Extraordinary Licenses.
8. Person under the age of 21 (higher age limit may applies to some vehicle classes)
B. The vehicle must NOT be used:
1. Outside the Area of Use specified on Part A of the contract.
2. On unsealed and/ or off road conditions under any circumstances. If it is a 4WD however, you may use the Vehicle on an unsealed road regularly maintained by a local, state or government body, authority or council, excluding those roads/ areas listed in clause 3.B.c. Driving any type of vehicles including 4WD on off road conditions is strictly prohibited.
3. In the following roads/ areas:
1). Fraser Island
2). On the Gibb River Road
3). On the Cape Leveque Road and to Windjana Gorge
4). On the Cardabia Ningaloo Road
5). On the Road from Jim Jim Falls to Twin Falls
6). On the Larapinta and Namitjira Drives, commonly known as the “Mereenie Loop”
7). Beyond Chilagoe or Georgetown in a westerly direction
8). Beyond Cooktown or Laura in a northerly direction
9). On the Burke Development Road
10). North of Maggieville
11). On unsealed roads north and west of Mt Isa
12). On the Bloomfield track
13). On the Savannah Way
14). On the Tanamai Track
15). On snow areas that require tyre chains to be fitted to the tyres of the Vehicle, or where there are signs indicating that tyre chains are required to be fitted to the tyres of the Vehicle
16). On beaches or through streams, dams, rivers, or flood waters
17). On flood prone roads or any roadway where the police or any other government authority has issued a warning or a caution
4. To carry paying passenger/s or to carry any inflammable, corrosive or explosive materials.
5. To propel or tow any other vehicle, trailer, boat or any other object unless a tow bar has been fitted to the Vehicle by the Company. All loads must be within the Vehicle’s design limit specified in the vehicle manual.
6. To carry more people and/or greater loads of goods than permitted by law.
7. To carry animal or pet.
8. To carry any water skies, surfboards, bicycles, canoes or the like of inside or on the roof of the vehicle in a manner and/or for purposes other than for which the vehicle was designed and constructed.
9. For racing, reliability and/or speed trials, pace making, hill climbing or tested in preparation of such purposes.
10. When it is damaged or unsafe
11. In a reckless and/ or dangerous manner.
12. For any illegal purposes including contravening any road safety laws in force from time to time where the vehicle is being driven.
4. FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS
1. Joint hirers and ALL drivers are jointly and severally responsible under this agreement.
2. When you pay by credit card or directed the Company to bill charges to other person, corporation, firm or organisation who or which fails to make payment when it is due, you shall immediately pay on demand the full amount due to the Company.
3. By entering into this agreement you authorize the Company to debit your credit card (and you shall pay on demand any balance owing) with the following charges:
1). All rental charges as specified on part A of the contract plus any subsequent rental extension/s of the original contracted rental period.
2). Damage Liability Fee and Single Vehicle Accident Liability Fee as specified on Part A.
3). All charges claimed to the Company due to parking or any other traffic infringements incurred during the period of hire or until such later time when the vehicle is returned to the Company and a processing fee of $38.50 (GST inclusive) for each infringement processed.
4). Administration Fee of $110.00 in case of accident regardless of fault.
5). Minimum Cleaning Fee of $50.00 if you chose to smoke and/ or let any other person to smoke in the vehicle during your rental
6). Minimum Cleaning Fee of $50.00 if the vehicle is returned dirty
7). All loss of or damage to the vehicle (including loss of use), Third party damages, legal expenses, debt collection fees, assessment fees, towing and recovery, storage and company service charges where condition of this agreement has been breached.
5. DAMAGE COVER
The Company will grant a damage cover for your benefit in respect of damages to the vehicle and an amount which you are legally held liable to pay as a result of an accident caused by Your use of the Vehicle. The damage cover is limited to a maximum amount of $50,000.00 (including legal and other related costs incurred with the Company’s consent). This damage cover is subject to conditions and exclusions below.
A. Conditions of Damage Cover:
This cover is subject to:
1. You have not acted or caused any other person to act in any manner, which constitutes a breach of this agreement.
2. Your payment of damage liability (in respect of each separate incident) regardless of cause/fault as specified on part A of the contract.
3. Your payment of Single Vehicle Accident Liability (in respect to each separate incident) in the event of:
1. No sufficient third party deail provided to the Company.
2. No other vehicle involved in the incident, or if there is other vehicle involved that other vehicle was parked or unattended.
4. Your prompt report to the Company and to the police or other relevant authority and in any event within 24 hours, any incident involving loss or damage to the Vehicle or any other property or injury to any person.
5. You submitting any tests required by the police to determine the level of alcohol or drugs in Your blood.
6. You not leaving or running away from an accident without providing full particulars to all relevant parties and authorities.
7. You are not covered under any insurance policy covering the loss or damage in which case the Company shall not cover you.
8. You provide such information and assistance as may be requested and, if necessary authorizing the Company and its authorized representative to bring, defend or settle legal proceedings where the Company shall have sole conduct of the proceedings.
9. You not admitting liability or making any offer or promise of settlement without the Company’s consent.
B. Exclusions to Damage Cover:
The following damages are not covered:
1. Damage or Loss arising from theft where the vehicle is left unlocked or unsecured or you have failed to keep the keys secure.
2. Damage or Loss to the Vehicle and third party property caused by You driving the Vehicle, after the Vehicle has sustained radiator fluid loss, transmission or engine oil loss or loss of tyre pressure.
3. Damage or Loss to the Vehicle caused by use of incorrect type of fuel.
4. Damage or Loss due to loading and unloading other than normal wear and tear.
5. Damage or Loss where the Vehicle is totally or partially immersed in water regardless of cause.
6. Damage or loss to the interior of the Vehicle, which requires professional cleaning and/or repair regardless of cause.
7. Damage or loss to the roof or overhead, tyres, windscreen and glass of the vehicle regardless of cause, except where premium cover is purchased and you have not breached this Rental Agreement.
8. Damage to underbody of the Vehicle regardless of cause.
9. Damage or loss to the Vehicle and any third party property caused by you or any other driver driving the Vehicle in a careless or reckless or dangerous manner.
10. Damage or loss to the Vehicle and third party property caused or contributed by you where you leave the incident scene prior to police attendance and/or failing to formally reporting the incident to the police.
11. Loss of use of or consequential loss to third party property caused by your use of the vehicle regardless of fault.
12. Damage to the Vehicle and third party property caused by you failing to properly secure any load or equipment to the Vehicle.
13. Damage or loss to the Vehicle while being transported or towed without the Company’s authority.
14. The cost of towing or salvage of the Vehicle from a remote or sparsely populated area.
15. Damage or Loss to the Vehicle due to the use of snowchains or roof racks.
16. Damage or loss to any property owned by You or any friend, relative, associate and any person known to You and/or any property in your physical legal control.
17. Legal and any other related expenses on a full indemnity basis and interest as a result of You failing to deliver immediately every summons, complaint, demand or notice in relation to any loss or damage.
6. GENERAL PROVISIONS
1. The Company reserves the right to refuse a replacement vehicle and/or hire of another vehicle to you following any accident or incident.
2. You shall release and indemnify the Company and it’s agents and employees from all claims for loss or damage to your personal property or any other person’s property left in the vehicle at any time before, during or after the rental period regardless of the cause.
3. No driver or passenger in the vehicle shall be deemed to be the agent, servant or employee of the Company in any manner for any purposes whatsoever.
4. The Company gives no express or implied warranty as to any matter whatsoever including but not limited to the condition of the vehicle and equipment, it’s merchantability or fitness for any particular purpose.
5. To the extent permitted by law the Company limits its liability for breach of an implied condition or warranty to the replacement, repair or re-supply of the Vehicle or reimbursement of rental charges.
6. You shall release and indemnify The Company from all-indirect, special, incidental or consequential damage suffered by any person including you due to any breach of this Rental Agreement by the Company and it’s agents and employees.
7. FUEL
1. You must use the correct type of fuel for the Vehicle at all times.
2. The vehicle must be returned with amount of fuel equal to that at the time of commencement of the rental.
3. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the difference shall be charged at a rate, which may include a service component unless prior arrangement has been made and noted on Part A of the contract.
4. Should there be a discrepancy in fuel level recorded on part A to that recorded on Vehicle Inspection report, the one specified on the Vehicle Inspection Report shall be deemed to be the correct one.
8.Cancellation And No Show Fees
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
All cancellations within 5 days of the selected pick up time will be subject to a $22.00 inclusive of GST cancellation fee.
All cancellations within 4 days of the selected pick up time will be subject to a $55.00 inclusive of GST cancellation fee.
All No Show reservations will be subject to a $77.00 inclusive of GST No Show fee.

10. Late Return Policy
M2000 offers a grace period of 15 minutes on the last rental day, after which late return charges are as follows:
1 -3 hours: 1/3 of the current daily rate will apply.
3+ hours: one full day of the current daily rate will apply.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

DAMAGE COVER
The Company will grant a damage cover to a maximum amount of $50,000.00 (including legal costs incurred with the Company’s consent) for your benefit in respect of damages to the vehicle and an amount which you are legally held liable to pay as a result of an accident caused by Your use of the Vehicle, for loss or damage to property other than any property owned by you or any friend, relative, associate and any person known to You and/or any property in your physical legal control. This damage cover is subject to conditions and exclusions below.

This cover is subject to:
1. You have not acted or caused any other person to act in any manner which contravenes this agreement including special conditions on part A of the contract.
2. Your payment of your damage liability (in respect of each separate incident) regardless of fault as specified on part A of the contract.
3. Your payment of your Single Vehicle Accident Liability (in respect to each separate incident) when no sufficient third party detail provided to the Company.
4. Your prompt report to the Company and to the police or other relevant authority and in any event within 24 hours, any incident involving loss or damage to the Vehicle or any other property or injury to any person.
5. You submitting any tests required by the police to determine the level of alcohol or drugs in Your blood.
6. You not leaving or running away from an accident without providing full particulars to all relevant parties and authorities.

13. Damage to the Vehicle and third party property caused by you failing to properly secure any load or equipment to the Vehicle.
14. Damage or loss to the Vehicle while being transported or towed without the Company’s authority.
15. The cost of towing or salvage of the Vehicle from a remote or sparsely populated area.
16. Damage or Loss to the Vehicle due to the use of snowchains or roof racks.

Loss or Damage Liability (LDR) and Single Vehicle Accidents (SVA)
The hirer's damage liability and Single Vehicle Accident Liability is $2,750. This may be reduced by the hirer choosing the liability reduction packages below.
There is no damage liability cover for roof, underbody, water, tyre, windscreen or glass damage.

Snow Cover (SNOW)
The hirer may travel to the snow but must firstly purchase snow cover; this cover is only available on 4 Wheel Drive vehicles and must be selected for the duration of hire even if not all of the hirers' rental days are at the snow.
The standard loss or damage liability and Single Vehicle Accident liability of $2750 will still be applicable if additional payment is not made to reduce it.
There is no damage liability cover for roof, underbody, water, tyre, windscreen or glass damage.

Vehicle Pick up / Drop off
M2000 do not have a rental desk at Brisbane Airport, you rental will be serviced by Andrews Airport parking. When you have landed, collected your bags and cleared customs (international arrivals) please contact Andrews Airport Parking (The phone number will be provided on your confirmation letter) A member of staff will direct you to the designated CUSTOMER PICK UP POINT. M2000 offer after hours collections and returns however these must be agreed to by the supplier prior to collection. Please note that a surcharge of $33.00 will apply once for each journey (ie if both collection and return are outside of office hours a fee of $66.00 will apply).
Pick Up/drop off instructions (Out of office hours):
Upon confirmation of your reservation an e-mail will be sent to you from the location with a manual rental agreement to complete, Pick up and drop off instructions and the Terms and Conditions of hire. The signed manual rental agreement will need to be sent back to the location by either e-mail or fax along with a copy of the driving licences of all designated drivers.
Late Return
M2000 offers a grace period of 15 minutes on the last rental day, after which late return charges are as follows:
1 -3 hours: 1/3 of the current daily rate will apply.
3+ hours: one full day of the current daily rate will apply.

Vehicle Pick up / Drop off
M2000 do not have a rental desk at Brisbane Airport, you rental will be serviced by Andrews Airport parking. When you have landed, collected your bags and cleared customs (international arrivals) please contact Andrews Airport Parking (The phone number will be provided on your confirmation letter). A member of staff will direct you to the designated CUSTOMER PICK UP POINT. The shuttle bus will collect you from this point and take you back to their offices to process your paper work. The shuttle bus will take approximately 20 minutes. The vehicle is to be returned to the Andrews Airport Parking office at the end of rental and a free shuttle bus will take you back to your departure terminal.
